Job Overview
As a Technician at Penske, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a modern fleet of vehicles. You will keep customers’ vehicles in shape and on the road.
ShiftSun‑Thurs 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Main Responsibilities- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with little or no supervision.
- Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Keeping the work area clean and safe.
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications- 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Teamwork ability.
- Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance required.
- Current driver qualification file maintained; CDL holders require DOT drug screening and FMCSA clearance.
- Willingness to travel within the district and complete background and drug screening.
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls.
- Work safely at heights with ladders and platforms.
- Work safely in all weather conditions.
- See and hear to navigate the work environment safely.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly; up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally; push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
