Position Summary
To serve our internal customers by maintaining and repairing the company’s fleet of vehicles according to established company standards and federal law to ensure the safety, reliability, and functionality of the fleet.

Essential Functions- Performs preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks, vans, trailers, and warehouse equipment including forklifts, walkie‑riders and pallet jacks.
- Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, FMCSA, Federal/State/Local Laws); wears all required personal protective equipment.
- Operates powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, and walkie riders in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Assist other technicians with repairs and complies with all safety and DOT regulations.
- Diagnose and repair medium to heavy‑duty trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
- Diagnostics/repairs include air and hydraulic brakes, tire repairs, drive lines, steering and suspension, electrical troubleshooting, AC and minor emission system repairs.
- Communicates with: co‑workers regarding repair status on equipment; internal customers regarding vehicle repair needs; supervisor regarding vehicle repair issues.
- Transports equipment to outside maintenance shops for repair work not completed in‑house.
- Orders parts and maintains parts inventory.
- Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the fleet garage (e.g. cleans up spills, properly disposes of used parts).
- Completes federal annual inspection reports, preventative maintenance records, service repair order forms, time‑off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
- Minimum
- High School or GED - Preferred
- Vocational / Technical or equivalent degree; 2 Year / associate degree in diesel mechanics
- Years of Experience – 2 or more years with medium to heavy duty trucks required
- Valid driver's license; employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle, as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Ability to use computerized diagnostics. Must be able to work around fumes, airborne particles and toxic/caustic materials. Must be able to work around moving equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) and in a loud noise environment.
