In this role, you'll work hands-on with a wide range of powered and non-powered ground support equipment that keeps airport and air operations running smoothly. If you enjoy diagnosing complex mechanical systems, working independently, and taking pride in keeping critical equipment mission-ready, this role offers a challenging and rewarding environment.

What

You'll Do
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul a wide variety of ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems to quickly and accurately diagnose issues
  • Remove malfunctioning equipment from service and ensure it is fully repaired and safe before return to operation
  • Use technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings to solve complex repair challenges
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Safely utilize proper tools, equipment, and materials to complete maintenance tasks
  • Support facility or property equipment as needed
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced mechanics on diagnostics and repair techniques
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including flexible shifts, overtime, and occasional travel
  • Always model and uphold strong safety practices to protect coworkers, customers, and operations
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of industrial and/or commercial maintenance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Gas and diesel engines
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Battery-operated equipment
    • Automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains
    • Arc/MIG and acetylene welding
    • Light and heavy-duty tires and wheels
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles and equipment
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office knowledge a plus)
  • Clear and professional communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, work in confined spaces or at heights, and lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Own a complete set of general mechanic tools (specialty tools provided by the company)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of formal technical training in automotive, truck, or equipment maintenance OR two (2) years of relevant commercial/industrial equipment servicing experience (Formal schooling may substitute for experience—1 year of schooling = 1 year of experience)
  • CDL Class A license
  • Prior military AGE/GSE experience
  • Additional technical training or certifications
