Job Summary
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate vehicle inventory records for the dealership. This role ensures proper accounting, tracking, and reconciliation of new, used, and loaner vehicles while supporting compliance with internal controls and dealership processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain accurate records for new, used, and loaner vehicle inventories
Stock in all vehicles
Perform weekly physical inventories and title audits
Process inter-company transfers, dealer trades, and wholesale transactions
Reconcile inventory accounts at month-end
Close internal repair orders (ROs) to the appropriate inventory accounts
Ensure timely and accurate documentation for all inventory-related transactions
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Primarily an office setting within a car dealership or automotive organization
High school diploma required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in dealership accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and dealership management systems (DMS preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
