Role Description

The Site HSE Manager is a contract, on-site role located in Wilson, NC, responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs at the project site. This role involves conducting daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards. The Site HSE Manager will develop and deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks, support job safety analyses, and coach site leaders and craft personnel on safe work practices.

The position includes maintaining accurate HSE documentation, reporting safety metrics, and collaborating with operations teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The Site HSE Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for HSE matters with client representatives and regulatory agencies at the site.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in occupational health, safety, and environmental management in industrial or construction settings, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Experience implementing and monitoring site safety programs, performing audits and inspections, and leading incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Knowledge of relevant OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements, along with practical experience applying industry HSE standards and best practices.
  • Strong skills in developing and delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and site orientations to diverse work groups.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare clear HSE reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with site leadership, trades, and clients, and to influence safe behaviors through coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Experience in industrial services such as scaffolding, insulation, coatings/linings, or asbestos abatement is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., OSHA 500, OSHA 510, CHST, or equivalent) and a track record of continuous professional development in HSE.
  • High level of personal integrity, situational awareness, and commitment to promoting a safety-first culture on site.
