Summary
We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and dependable PK2 Lead Teacher to join our early childhood team. The ideal candidate loves working with 2‑year‑olds, understands early childhood development, and creates a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Duties (Key Responsibilities)- Plan and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood standards.
- Provide a warm, structured, and responsive classroom environment for 2‑year‑olds.
- Support children’s social‑emotional development, routines, and self‑help skills.
- Maintain active supervision at all times.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Complete daily classroom documentation and parent communication.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards.
- Follow all NC Child Care Licensing rules and center policies.
- Minimum Early Childhood Credential, CDA, or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
- Experience working with toddlers or preschool‑age children (PK2 experience strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of child development and classroom management for young children.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass background check and health requirements.
- Patience, warmth, and consistency.
- High energy and positive attitude.
- Strong classroom management and routine‑building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching team.

Magic Carpet Academy is a Child Care Center in Wilson, NC that opened in September 2021. The center offers child care services for children ages 0–5 using the Experience Early Learning Curriculum. In addition to excellent childcare and high‑quality early education, the center focuses on cultural integration to develop globally competitive individuals who become future ambassadors. The center actively engages children in learning using multi‑faceted indoor classrooms and nature outdoor learning environments.
Mrs. Reynalin Barnes, Owner and Site Director, brings 20 years of experience in education, including teaching and administration. She holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Teaching and a Diploma in School Administration, is licensed as a teacher, a NC K‑12 Principal, and was named Teacher of the Year in 2009 and 2012. She is also a Level III Early Childhood and School Age Administrator.
