Position: Licensed EC Teacher (Exceptional Children Special Education)

Job Type: Full-Time, School-Based Position

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Contract Length: 10-Month School Year

We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to support elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about individualized instruction, collaboration, and helping students reach their academic, behavioral, and functional goals.

The EC Teacher will work closely with students, families, general education teachers, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate educational services and support in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all special education requirements.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Support students in achieving academic, social, behavioral, and functional goals.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications Required
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and local regulations.
  • Ability to effectively support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Special Education certification.
  • Elementary Education certification.
  • Secondary Education certification.
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience.
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement or similar credential.
  • CPR certification, health documentation, and other credentials as required.
Schedule & Assignment Details
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • 37.5 hours per week
