Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality customer service by assisting students, faculty, staff, and community patrons with library resources, services, and technologies.
* Deliver reference and research assistance using print, electronic, and online information resources.
* Develop, coordinate, and facilitate library programs, workshops, orientations, and outreach activities that promote information literacy and library engagement.
* Assist faculty with locating instructional materials, course resources, open educational resources (OER), and other library-supported services.
* Maintain knowledge of library databases, electronic resources, and emerging technologies to support teaching, learning, and research.
* Assist with collection development by evaluating, recommending, and maintaining print and digital library resources.
* Create and maintain library guides, instructional materials, website content, and other user support resources.
* Support library technology, including public computers, printers, self-service equipment, multimedia resources, and other instructional technologies.
* Provides technical support for the integrated library system (ILS), electronic resources, and library applications.
* Collect, analyze, and report library usage statistics and assessment data to support planning and continuous improvement.
* Train and provide guidance to work study students and part-time staff as assigned.
* Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of library services, projects, and initiatives.
* Promote equitable access to library resources by supporting accessibility and universal design principles.
* Collaborate with faculty, academic support units, and campus departments to enhance student learning and engagement.
* Remain current on trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in libraries, higher education, and information services.
* Perform circulation and other library operations as needed to ensure effective daily library services.
Related Responsibilities
* Participate in institutional committees and meetings as needed.
* Participate in campus activities and promote college programs and events to faculty, staff, students, and the community.
* Participate in the College's recruitment efforts by reviewing and providing recommendations for program publications, the College's website, social media, marketing materials, and other community relations activities.
* Maintain a high level of professional skills and abilities through participation in professional organizations, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or members of College Leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of integrated library systems (ILS), library operations, electronic resources, and library technologies.
* Knowledge of library databases, research tools, information literacy, and collection development principles.
* Knowledge of instructional technologies, accessibility standards, and universal design principles.
* Skill in supporting library systems, software applications, and technology-related issues.
* Skill in research, reference services, and the creation of instructional and web-based resources.
* Skill in planning and delivering training, workshops, and outreach activities.
* Skill in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support assessment and continuous improvement.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
* Ability to train and guide work-study students and part-time staff.
* Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and campus partners.
* Ability to learn new technologies, adapt to change, and work independently with sound judgment.
