Lead CCR Instructor and Advisor

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or college.
• Prior experience teaching, facilitating workshops, training, or counseling adults.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.

Education and Experience
Preferred

• Prior experience teaching ESL preferred.
• Experience using educational software such as Essential Education and Burlington English preferred.
• Experience in adult education preferred.
• Familiarity with NCCCS state compliance requirements is preferred.

Wilson Community College is seeking a dynamic and visionary instructor to work with the Instructional Coordinator and College and Career Readiness (CCR) Leadership in the delivery, planning, promotion, and coordination of CCR programs including Adult Basic Education, High School Equivalency, Adult High School, and English as a Second Language programs. This full-time Lead CCR Instructor and Advisor position is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, assessing and documenting student progress, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, onboarding and advising students, supporting student retention and enrollment in Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs, and teaching day and evening classes as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructor Responsibilities

• Teach a minimum of 25 contact hours each week.
• Provide high-quality instruction in College and Career Readiness (CCR) programs using a variety of instructional methods and technologies to support student learning and achievement.
• Create a learning environment that supports student engagement and accommodates a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Assess student learning, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records of student achievement and program outcomes.
• Advise and support students through onboarding, retention, and educational goal attainment.
• Collaborates with the Instructional Coordinator and Director of College and Career Readiness to develop course schedules in accordance with college scheduling procedures and timelines.
• Assist with the selection of appropriate class materials and resources.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and promoting CCR programs, including Adult Basic Education, High School Equivalency, Adult High School, English as a Second Language, and Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs.
• Ensure compliance with college, state, and federal requirements through timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
• Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting part-time instructors.
• Participate in program evaluation, audits, data collection, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Engage in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and instructional effectiveness.
• Represent the College at community events, workshops, conferences, and other outreach activities as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Instructional Coordinator, Director of College and Career Readiness, or dean.

Professional Development and College Service

• Completes a minimum of 8 hours of professional development annually that aligns with annual instructional goals of the College or individual goals as recommended by the Instructional Coordinator, Director of College and Career Readiness, or dean.
• Completes a minimum of 8 hours of college service activities annually to include recruitment activities, college event participation, SGA events, club advising, institutional and ad hoc committees, etc.
• Attends College and/or administrative meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
