As an Electrical and I&C Work Package Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team known for delivering award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project solutions. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional who is eager to collaborate, exceed expectations, and challenge conventional practices.
Your role will involve developing and managing project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules to help our team achieve client objectives. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and address project challenges will empower you to succeed in our fast-paced environment. You will flourish as you tackle complex issues, ensuring the resounding success of our projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hosting weekly meetings with subcontractors, taking precise notes, and ensuring alignment with Subcontract Administrators for accuracy.
- Providing subcontractors with the latest versions of all technical documents, including single lines, specifications, and other crucial construction installation drawings.
- Reviewing all RFIs and submittals for completeness prior to submission by the subcontractor.
- Monitoring the return of RFIs and submittals, providing assistance from engineering disciplines when necessary.
- Visiting subcontractor fabrication shops to expedite material deliveries and verify work progress as needed.
- Collaborating with Construction Management and field superintendents to ensure coordinated material deliveries.
- Monitoring subcontractor schedules weekly, escalating issues to the ACM and Subcontracts Administrator while working with field superintendents and project controls to track progress metrics.
We prefer candidates with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 10 years of experience managing construction projects in Life Science and/or Pharmaceutical Production Facility Construction.
- Strong knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction processes, building systems/components, contract management, project delivery methods, team collaboration, and client relationship building.
- Expert understanding of EI&C Systems, including Delta V, BMS, and Medium Voltage.
- Experience in leading contractors and superintendents regarding scope, engineering information, and documentation for construction execution.
- The ability to manage EI&C scopes of work from the initial bid phase to execution, turnover, and subcontract closeout.
- Experience in monitoring project budgets to ensure requirements are met efficiently.
Additionally, candidates who possess:
- The ability to collaborate with Engineering and Subcontracting to develop scopes of work for EI&C-related bid packages.
- A proactive approach in liaising between Subcontracts Department and Engineering to ensure all requirements are met during the Bid Phase process and for any changes/additions to bid documents.
- Experience identifying bidders and attending Pre-Bid, clarification, and post-Bid meetings.
- Skills in developing a thorough Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE), considering risk, sustainability, and schedule impact.
- The ability to ensure technical bids align with bid intent by identifying gaps and scope exceptions.
