Job DescriptionResponsible for advanced engineering design and start‑up of GMP large molecule biologics manufacturing facilities, systems, and equipment, and for supporting new complex production technologies and processing equipment. Provides integrated equipment, utility, and facility engineering expertise to support technology transfer and manufacturing projects, ensuring right‑first‑time execution and start‑up.
- Extensive interaction with external partners (A&E, construction firms, equipment vendors) to develop, organize and execute project plans as subject‑matter expert and process systems owner.
- Serve as Process Engineering expert to develop business‑based technology solutions and provide integrated equipment, utility, and facility engineering expertise for strategic and key CAPEX manufacturing projects.
- Lead technical efforts for technology transfers and new technology development projects, ensuring process‑fit‑to‑plant methodology and practices.
- Explore and synthesize technology, manufacturing challenges, business needs, and engineering inputs into integrated business solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to multi‑functional teams on projects/process improvements, resolving inter‑functional issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering groups to develop standards and define project needs and priorities, and to recruit project team members.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of GMP requirements, business requirements, and manage risk and conflict.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent university degree in engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical). MS/MBA/Ph.D. and PE certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of process/plant engineering experience in GMP manufacturing of large‑molecule biologics facilities; experience in green or brown‑field GMP start‑up including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities and operations.

Skills:
Strong background in process and manufacturing engineering, analytical skills to synthesize business needs and engineering solutions. - Operational and financial fundamentals:
Ability to lead and/or support multiple projects simultaneously; define technical or scientific direction of complex programs; engineer new and modify existing processes for right‑first‑time start‑up; track record of successful program execution and team outcomes. - Preferred: FPX certification, Six Sigma and/or Lean experience.
Position is located in Wilson, North Carolina, and will require full‑time on‑site support.
