Plant Engineer
Involved in leading maintenance and engineering department within a dynamic plant, responsible for enhancing building and equipment performance. Focus on minimizing mechanical downtime and ensuring smooth product flow for optimized production efficiency. Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative maintenance systems like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, etc., to elevate the plant’s operations as part of a High-Performing Manufacturing Organization. Oversee engineering activities to maintain a cutting-edge food manufacturing facility with groundbreaking technology projects.
Tasks& Responsibilities of the Plant Engineer:
- In charge of capital projects from inception to completion. Manage and schedule all project aspects to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations while delivering projects on time, within budget, and maintaining safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art maintenance systems to maximize plant performance. Drive initiatives like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other strategies to ensure efficient scheduling for minimal downtime.
- Supervise the maintenance team by assigning tasks, enforcing policies, and guiding work assignments. Efficiently organize, plan, and execute tasks to ensure safe and effective completion.
- Offer quick fixes and long-term solutions to daily operational issues. Troubleshoot, analyze problems, and address equipment failures to ensure smooth plant operation with minimal recurring problems.
- Promote continuous improvement by developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators that evaluate maintenance function’s success. From equipment reliability to supplier performance and equipment efficiency, your analysis is vital for maintaining peak performance throughout the plant.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution with 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is mandatory.
- Experience of 2+ years in team management/development or project leadership is required.
- Proficiency in leadership, planning, teamwork, analytical thinking, and adaptability is essential.
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing setting are crucial.
- Thorough understanding of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc., is necessary.
- Proficient in using exposure monitoring equipment, interpreting, and communicating results effectively.
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, both in written and oral forms.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are required, alongside exceptional interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills.
