Please review the following job description: This position underwrites and decisions credit card requests while adhering to Service Level Agreement measurements. The role will make credit decisions on all credit card and Ready Now Credit Line applications in accordance with the Bank’s policies. Support, coaching and client service is provided to bankers to ensure understanding and enforcement of policies and to help ensure consistency in execution of the lending process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Underwrite and decision, within delegated lending authority, credit card and Ready Now Credit Line applications where the risk profile falls outside of auto decisioning criteria.
  • Perform complex debt capacity and revolving credit utilization calculations and supporting compensating factors on higher risk/complex requests.
  • Ensure all credit decisions are made in compliance with bank policies, procedures and federal regulations.
  • Process and complete manual underwriting or communications, including the management of group email boxes.
  • Provide phone/email support for banker questions.
  • Provide recommendations to Manager for improving policy and processes related to underwriting consumer cards and constant credit.
  • Clearly document each application to include rationale for any policy exceptions.
  • Meet production goals established for the role in addition to meeting turnaround time standards.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business or related field, or equivalent education and related training
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products, credit policy, applicable federal laws and regulations
  • Proficient analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi‑task and handle heavy workloads
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer software applications such as Microsoft Office products and automated loan origination systems containing risk models and internal scorecards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years consumer underwriting experience in a centralized fast‑paced customer service orientated team environment.
  • Knowledge of bank operations, systems, compliance and regulatory issues
