Floor Technician, Full Time 2nd Shift – Cushman & Wakefield

Job Description Summary

The Floor Tech is a position within the line of operations of C&W Services. The incumbent is responsible for performing day‑to‑day and periodic cleaning activities in assigned work areas. Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, restroom cleaning of fixtures, floors, walls; all surfaces in the restrooms; emptying waste baskets; vacuuming, dusting, spot cleaning, glass surfaces, upholstered surfaces; floor cleaning (including sweeping, scrubbing, buffing).

Specific tasks are determined by client expectations, account manager/supervisor discretion, and cleaner capabilities and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Coverage of absences and open positions as requested.
  • Perform daily and periodic tasks in assigned areas as directed.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including janitorial closets and storage areas.
  • Perform all cleaning assignments in accordance with C&W Services approved procedures.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and notify the account manager or supervisor if repair or replacement is necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate supply levels in assigned janitorial closets and storage areas.
  • Always work safely and promptly inform management about unsafe conditions existing in the work area.
  • Wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed.
  • Meet all client and C&W Services quality expectations in assigned tasks.
  • Assist in orientation and training for new employees as directed.
  • Adhere to proper security procedures.
  • Notify management about problems or opportunities that affect service to the client.
  • Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
  • Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior – Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
  • Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
  • Perform other cleaning-related duties as required.
  • Utilize a Kaivac machine.
  • Perform restroom cleaning procedures: damp wipe glass surfaces, disinfect all surfaces, empty all waste receptacles, restock dispensers, dust sills, wash toilets, sinks, urinals, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep, mop or auto‑scrub floors.
  • Monitor defects such as clogged urinals and lights out and report to the supervisor.
  • Perform floor care procedures: damp mop and spray buff, wash floors, strip and wax floors.
  • Perform periodic work: high dusting, leather, and wood surface (non‑floor) polishing, wall washing, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Occasional overtime is mandatory to help with special projects.
  • Job duties subject to change.

Compensation

$12.75 – $15.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage.
