What You Will Do:
  • Machine, fabricate, assemble, and modify precision tooling, fixtures, jigs and production support equipment from CAD drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill presses, and other machining equipment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to develop tooling solutions that improve safety, ergonomics, throughput, and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and equipment issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to tooling design, manufacturability, durability, and setup efficiency.
  • Perform precision measurements and inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, optical inspection and other metrology equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for tooling modifications, repairs, and completed work.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S workplace practices.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Broad knowledge of multiple machines and machining applications
  • Experience in manual and CNC machine operation.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Advanced programming skills, preferably on Trak and Bridgeport machines
  • Knowledgeable in the use of cutting tools with proper speed and feeds
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and solve complex problems
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Aerospace or defense industry experience
  • Familiar with machining Aerospace materials
  • Specialized machining certifications or advanced technical education
  • CAD/Solid Works software familiarity
  • Effective communication and mentorship abilities
