American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring 1.5+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

• Work in the Medical Surgical Combination/Telemetry unit of a 294-bed hospital
• 22-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Uses Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of 12 hours every other or every third weekend
• Floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Reports to Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
• 13-week assignment with bi-weekly orientation start dates

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills preferred
• Experience managing discharges and admissions preferred
• Basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred
• Artificial nails not permitted
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients including cardiac, respiratory, and renal cases
• Support Med/Surg overflow within the unit
• Team-oriented and flexible personality fit preferred
• Facility is Joint Commission accredited and offers cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel pay rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
