About the role

This position involves decision making in the areas of chemistry, analysis, laboratory capabilities, methodology, equipment maintenance, data quality, and workflow. Duties include test method development and validation, implementation and troubleshooting of existing methods, and supporting the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.

This position will support startup of R&D and QC analytical laboratories at the Wilson site and will transition to support QC laboratory release testing by first product commercialization (expected Q3 2027).

Your responsibilities
  • Perform raw material USP verifications and method validation – including protocol generation, test execution, and report writing
  • Execute raw material testing and release to support Engineering and Validation batches for new product transfers into Wilson
  • Support transition of RM testing from R&D to QC laboratory for commercialization e.g. personnel training, procedure generation etc.
  • Support analytical equipment qualification for raw material testing
  • Interacts with other cross functional team members concerning lab capabilities and interpretation of results.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and improvement of existing methods and procedures and instrument hardware and software problems
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the analytical function with respect to new analytical technologies, procedures and/or processes.
  • Support the preparation of relevant internal documentation and ensure all are approved prior to full production start-up.
  • Support the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures
  • Set up stability studies in laboratory information management system (LIMS)
Key Accountabilities

The experience we're looking for
  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with general laboratory equipment such as HPLC, Titrator, GC, ICP-MS, Karl-Fischer, polarimeter, UV-VIS, Flodex, FTIR, Raman, viscometer and Rotap sieve analysis.
  • Experience with USP testing (wet chemistry, ROI, LOD, Conductivity, etc.)
  • Understanding of the separation mechanisms, uses of chromatography and interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in challenging, fast-paced environments on varied projects.
  • Proficient with MS Windows, Access, Excel, and Word.
