Position SummaryGEI is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Manager – Power Equipment Components to develop customers and drive sales growth in the United States. The ideal candidate will have relevant sales or business development experience in power transformers, high-voltage switch gear and circuit breakers, instrument transformers, reactors, power electronics, or related electrical equipment, along with strong relationships and customer networks in the U.S. power equipment industry.
This is a hands-on, results-oriented role responsible for customer development, opportunity identification, sales execution, and converting opportunities into sustainable production business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new customers and business opportunities in the U.S. power equipment market and achieve assigned sales and order targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer sourcing, engineering, quality, and management teams.
- Develop business with major U.S. power equipment manufacturers.
- Manage opportunities from initial customer engagement and RFQ through technical and commercial discussions, quotation, supplier qualification, NPI, contract award, and production business.
- Develop key-account plans and identify additional opportunities across customer products, facilities, and business units.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to develop competitive technical and commercial solutions.
- Lead or support pricing, commercial negotiations, contracts, and long‑term supply agreements.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, and a qualified opportunity pipeline.
- Gather customer, market, and competitive intelligence to support GEI's product and market strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of B2B sales, business development, or key-account experience in the power equipment or industrial electrical industry.
- Relevant experience with power transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, reactors, magnetic components, power electronics, or related products.
- Established relationships and customer network within the U.S. power equipment industry are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing new customers and converting opportunities into orders and sustainable business.
- Experience working with customer engineering, sourcing, quality, and supplier-management organizations.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of engineered industrial products.
- Strong customer‑development, negotiation, and project‑execution skills.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a growing entrepreneurial organization.
- Experience selling engineered components to transformer, switch gear, circuit breaker, instrument transformer, or power‑electronics OEMs.
- Existing relationships with major U.S. power equipment manufacturers.
- Familiarity with RFQ, supplier qualification, NPI, PPAP, and new-product introduction processes.
- Working knowledge of relevant IEEE, ANSI, UL, or other North American power equipment standards.
