Position: Maint & Repair Tech I-Integrated Supply

Position Summary

Lead Maintenance and Repair Technician – Integrated Supply. Lead technicians in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of life safety systems and equipment for established customers on a scheduled basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality of service to customers and that Vallen personnel follow standard operating procedures.
  • Train and utilize assigned technicians properly.
  • Schedule work as needed.
  • Lead small groups or on‑site service centers within area of expertise.
  • Coordinate job activities with customers.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately for proper invoicing.
  • Provide required copies to customers upon servicing equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (State, OSHA, NFPA).
  • Handle Parts & Equipment requests.
  • Maintain accurate inventories related to jobs and maintenance orders.
  • Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders.
  • Use company assets such as vehicle, inventory, safety equipment, laptop, scanner, test equipment, tools, radio, cell phone, fuel card/credit card as needed.
  • Maintain proper care of all assets per company policy.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum four certifications in a fire protection related field.
  • NICET II or greater.
  • Fire Alarm & Ext A certification and 5+ years experience OR WBS Construction certification and 5+ years experience.
  • RME-I (if applicable).
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Advance communication, initiative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Specific – Relevant experience:
    • Installation, maintenance, repair, and service of life safety systems and equipment.
    • Advanced industry segment knowledge.
    • Maintain minimum productivity of 90% within 60 days.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a customer account or project.
    • Repair and service equipment sold by Vallen.
    • Current valid driver’s license with good driving record.
    • Commercial Driver’s License if carrying hazardous materials.
    • Proficient with hand tools.
    • Complete repairs and maintenance timely and accurately.
    • Assist and train Vallen associates and plant personnel.
    • Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed.
    • Maintain all certifications and licenses current through continuing education.
    • Read, write, and comprehend English operational and quality instructions.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
