HiFyve is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic in the construction equipment industry in Wilson, NC! Salary:
Up to $40/hr
Shift: Full-Time – 1st Shift, Monday–Friday

On-site – Wilson, NC
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with hands-on experience repairing and maintaining construction machinery, specifically Hitachi and Case equipment. This position is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and component rebuilds in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically driven, safety-focused, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on Hitachi and Case equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds as needed
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair issues accurately
- Complete all repair documentation, work orders, and service reports with attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that meets company and OSHA standards
- Support other technicians and collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure timely repair turnaround
- Participate in continuous improvement and training initiatives to stay current on equipment technology
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role in the construction equipment industry
- Strong working knowledge of Hitachi and Case equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic results
- Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus
