Millwright Job Summary

Provide mechanical maintenance support tomaintainequipment in an electrical generating power plant. Millwright experience required.

• Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellowworkersand the protection of the public.
• Knowledgeableofenvironmentalrulesandregulations,andeffectivelyapplythem to all work situations.
• Installs,maintains tests,inspects,andrepairsgeneratingstationequipmentsuch as boilers, turbines, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
• Replaces bearings, packing in pumps and valves, shaft seals, sleeves, seats, and other miscellaneous parts used in plant equipment.
• Workswithapprenticemechanicsandskillenhancementemployeestoteach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.

• Power Plant Environment-Work both inside and outside in all temperatures and climate condition sin accordance with
  
  Heat Stress procedures. Around large rotating equipment,energized electrical equipment in highnoiseareas,and/or in confined places,on elevation sin excess of150 feet, or from platforms at heights of 5 feet or greater. Climb stairways, ladders, and work from aerial devices.
• Must be prepared to work irregular or rotating shifts and respond to emergency callout 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
• Abilitytoworkinmentallystressfulenvironments:mustbeabletoreacttocrises where immediate action isrequiredto correct or curtail potentially damaging or hazardous situations.
• Work with and around hazardous and non-hazardous materials (reference the waste management guidance manual).
• Must beabletowearpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE) asrequiredi.e.…steel- toed boots, respirators, goggles, safety glasses etc.
• Haveabilitytodiscernandrespondtoverbalandauditorysignals.

• Abilitytodiscernassortedcolors
• Employeemustarrangeowntransportationtoworklocationandmaybe reassigned to another location at the Company’s discretion.
• Limitedtravelmayberequiredfortrainingortoassistwithotherplantlocations

• Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.
• 2 years of millwright experience in the repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of pumps, turbines, auxiliary equipment or enginesOR2 years machine shop (heavy industry) equipment experience including inspection and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting,fabricating and diagnostics.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a chemical, manufacturing, or power generating industry.
• Valid State Driver ’sLicense

• Associatesdegreeorequivalentapprenticeship.
• Stronginterpersonalskillswiththeabilitytoworkharmoniouslyinateam environment.
• Strongcommunicationsskills–verbalandwritten.
  
  Abletopreparereportsat request of management as required.
• Generalknowledgeofenvironmentalregulationsandcompliancerequirements.
• Basic level Computer Skills :includingMSWord, Outlook,Exceland Power Point .

• Soundlevelofbasicmechanicalaptitudeskills.

  Company vehicles and equipment (e.g.forklift, mobile crane, etc.) andmaintainoperating licenses and certifications. TDL is required.
• Knowledgeofrotatingequipmentandgeneralindustrialmaintenanceactivitiesand procedures.
• Abilitytooperateoxygenandacetylenetorches.
• Ability tooperatemachine shop equipment (i.e.drill presses,lathesand boring mills).
• Abilitytofollow,interpretandactonwrittenandverbaljobinstructions,and reports, technicalmanualsand data.

• Abilitytousemeasuringdevicessuchasmicrometers.
• Ability to calculate measurements and computations used to repair andmaintainpower plant equipment.
• Abilitytouseapersonalcomputerandassociatedsoftware.
• Ability to Tag Out/Lock Out equipment per East Energy Tag Out/Lock Out procedure.
• Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical equipment troubles and repairs or recommend major repairs.
• Ability to perform preventativeandcorrectivemaintenanceprocedureson mechanical equipment.
• Ability to perform plumbingandpipefittingtasks.
