Concrete Mixer Truck Driver; CDL

Primary Function

With minimal direct supervision, operate a concrete mixer truck on public streets, highways, and construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Candidates must have a valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver’s license and a good driving record.

• Climb on, over, and around a company vehicle to perform pre/post trip inspections and secure loads.
• Climb up and down concrete mixer trucks using a ladder, inspecting concrete mix consistencies and performing quality‑control checks.
• Lift truck hoods, products, equipment, and tools necessary for inspection, repair, loading, and unloading.
• Support and assist shop personnel with required repairs.
• Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, and climb up and down truck washing facilities.
• Operate the vehicle safely, lawfully, and courteously at all times.
• Keep vehicle, cab interior, exterior, and mixer drums free from concrete buildup, stones, debris, and loose objects.
• Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
• Maintain contact with managers by radio or GPS to report delays, problems, or unusual situations.
• Work long, flexible hours as demanded by customers, including nights, weekends, and extended periods outdoors during all seasons.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance throughout the day.
• Keep operator logs and other documentation required by regulations or the company.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by supervisors.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of one to two years driving a commercial vehicle (preferred).
• Current medical examination certificate with card.

• Good work ethic, dependable, punctual, with regular and predictable attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
• Dependable transportation.

Heavy physical effort required, including climbing, pulling, lifting, or moving heavy weight materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). A position‑specific Physical Demands sheet may provide more detail.

Position requires continuous work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment. Requires the ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
