Concrete Mixer Truck Driver; CDL

Job Location: Wilson, NC

Pay: $18 - $24.50/hr.

With minimal direct supervision, will operate a concrete mixer truck on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Suitable candidates are required to have a valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license and good driving record.

• Climb on, over, and around a company vehicle to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections and secure loads.
• Climb up and down concrete mixer trucks using a ladder, inspecting concrete mix consistencies and performing quality control checks.
• Lift truck hoods, product or equipment and tools necessary to inspect, repair, load, and unload trucks.
• Support and assist shop personnel with required repairs.
• Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, and climb up and down truck washing facilities.
• Operate the vehicle safely, lawfully, and courteously at all times.
• Keep the vehicle, cab interior, and exterior clean, and keep mixer drums free from concrete buildup, stones, debris, and loose objects.
• Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
• Maintain contact with appropriate managers by radio or GPS to report delays, problems, or unusual situations.
• Work long, flexible hours as demanded by customers, including nights, weekends, and extended outdoor periods in all seasons.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance when reporting to work and throughout the day.
• Maintain operator logs and other documentation required by regulations or the company.
• Perform all necessary work while complying with company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by supervisors or managers.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• A minimum of one to two years of experience in driving a commercial vehicle is preferred.
• Current medical examination certificate with card.

• Must have a good work ethic, be dependable, on-time, and maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Job requires hours that may include nights and weekends.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime if needed.
• Dependable transportation.

Heavy physical effort required including climbing, pulling, and lifting or moving heavy weight materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). If a position‑specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands required.

Position requires the ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment. Position requires the ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
