In the Manufacturing Project Specialist (MPS) role for the Wilsonville Operations Team you will be joining a Collins Aerospace facility focused on developing, manufacturing, and servicing cutting‑edge Vision System technologies for both commercial and military applications. The MPS role is a versatile position that will be focused on facilitation and execution of a list of continuous improvement and/or operational focused initiatives.
This position will be a high‑visibility role expected to work cross‑functionally in a matrixed organizational structure. - Facilitating the necessary events/activities to deliver value to our customers to create self‑sufficiency
- Plan, lead and execute various projects, utilizing CORE Operating System for the Wilsonville, OR site
- On‑time delivery recovery
- Quality escapes and/or yield improvement activities
- Specific cost/spend pressures including productivity/efficiency
- Transform sites/cells to flow/pitch/takt using standard work (SWCS, % load, SWS)
- Align all portions of operations to work in harmony, to include development of robust SIOP processes
- Determine/monitor/improve KPI's and implementation processes
- IT Systems (SharePoint, web‑based content delivery, etc.)
- Positively affect KPI change
- Lead special projects as needed
- Effective leader in change management and cultural adaptation
- Typically requires a university degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience driving tangible process improvements in a business process environment
- 5+ years of experience leading cross‑functional teams and leaders within a complex and sometimes ambiguous matrix organization
- 5+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing practices and operations/shop floor management
- Experience with quality and data management systems
- Experience with MRP/ERP enterprise solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Experience with change management through the use of formal methods
- History of positively impacting culture
- CORE, Lean Practitioner, Six Sigma Certified (or equivalent)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve operational goals
- Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience using analytical and problem‑solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks
- The ability to remain focused under pressure to assess and resolve challenges
