In the Manufacturing Project Specialist (MPS) role for the Wilsonville Operations Team you will be joining a Collins Aerospace facility focused on developing, manufacturing, and servicing cutting‑edge Vision System technologies for both commercial and military applications. The MPS role is a versatile position that will be focused on facilitation and execution of a list of continuous improvement and/or operational focused initiatives.

This position will be a high‑visibility role expected to work cross‑functionally in a matrixed organizational structure. There is high demand for the products and technologies we create; we are looking for talent that thrives in delivering results in a highly collaborative, highly innovative operational environment focused on all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost to achieve customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Facilitating the necessary events/activities to deliver value to our customers to create self‑sufficiency
  • Plan, lead and execute various projects, utilizing CORE Operating System for the Wilsonville, OR site
  • On‑time delivery recovery
  • Quality escapes and/or yield improvement activities
  • Specific cost/spend pressures including productivity/efficiency
  • Transform sites/cells to flow/pitch/takt using standard work (SWCS, % load, SWS)
  • Align all portions of operations to work in harmony, to include development of robust SIOP processes
  • Determine/monitor/improve KPI's and implementation processes
  • IT Systems (SharePoint, web‑based content delivery, etc.)
  • Positively affect KPI change
  • Lead special projects as needed
  • Effective leader in change management and cultural adaptation
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
  • Typically requires a university degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience driving tangible process improvements in a business process environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross‑functional teams and leaders within a complex and sometimes ambiguous matrix organization
  • 5+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing practices and operations/shop floor management
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER
  • Experience with quality and data management systems
  • Experience with MRP/ERP enterprise solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience with change management through the use of formal methods
  • History of positively impacting culture
  • CORE, Lean Practitioner, Six Sigma Certified (or equivalent)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve operational goals
  • Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience using analytical and problem‑solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • The ability to remain focused under pressure to assess and resolve challenges
