Position Summary
Oregon Tech is accepting applications for sociology undergraduate adjunct instructors for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department. The department offers interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management, graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis and Marriage and Family Therapy, minors in Arts, Literature and Philosophy, Medical Sociology, and Psychology, and a diverse collection of courses supporting Oregon Tech’s general education mission.
The department seeks adjunct instructors to support general education courses and the minor in Medical Sociology, as well as the undergraduate degree in Population Health Management. Candidates will be considered for teaching courses such as Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Medical Sociology, Aging and Society, Global Population Health, and related topics.
Teaching ModalityAppointments may include courses offered online, in‑person on‑campus, hybrid, or in an alternative format aligned with state and local requirements.
LocationPrimary campus locations include Klamath Falls, the Portland‑Metro campus (Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may be conducted remotely within the United States.
ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate courses and support the department’s curriculum in the areas described above.
Required Qualifications- Master’s degree or higher in sociology or a related field.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time, permanent basis at the time of hire; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Experience using Canvas or similar learning management systems.
- Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
