Overview
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department is recruiting a pool of adjunct instructors for possible part-time teaching positions. Hired Adjunct Instructors would be teaching courses that help our students complete their General Education Humanities requirement for graduation; which are also part of our Arts, Literature, and Philosophy minor curriculum. Specifically, the department seeks adjunct instructors to teach:
Introduction to Literature;
Introduction to the Humanities;
Medical Humanities;
Technology, Society, and Values;
American Literature, among others.
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department is a dynamic and growing department with a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
Teaching modality and locationAppointments may include courses offered online, in person on campus in an alternative format responsive to state and local requirements.
Location:
the primary campus locations include the Klamath Falls campus, the Portland-Metro campus (located in Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may be conducted remotely/online, within the United States.
Teach courses that support students in completing General Education Humanities requirements and contribute to the Arts, Literature, and Philosophy minor curriculum. In your cover letter, please specify the areas or courses you are qualified to offer and would be interested in teaching.
QualificationsRequired
- Master’s Degree or higher in Literature or related field.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis at the time of hire; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or other employment-based immigration support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard).
- Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
