Here in the Xerox Printhead Manufacturing group, we develop and build state-of-the-art industrial inkjet printheads for both internal and OEM customers – and our business is growing. We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our diverse team of professionals.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting existing manufacturing processes and helping to develop new ones for our next generation printheads. You will work alongside other members of the engineering and operations staff to ensure that products are built to meet the performance, productivity, and cost targets in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Quality:

  • Use a continuous improvement mindset to optimize processes for maximum yield and increased productivity.
  • Use your problem-solving skills to resolve complicated printhead performance issues into actionable improvements to the manufacturing process.
  • Understand and use the tools of total quality, lean manufacturing, and design for manufacturability.
  • Support required ISO Protocols for both 9001 and 14001.

Technical:

  • Use your creativity and technical expertise to identify manufacturing methods that enable our next generation industrial printheads.
  • Acquire and apply knowledge necessary to meet product cost, yield, and performance targets.
  • Create and maintain effective process documentation.

Communication and Leadership:

  • Effectively communicate information to co-workers, customers, and leadership.
  • Serve as the technical expert for your process to the printhead organization.
  • Lead by example – demonstrating good decision-making skills, and a desire to learn.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing).
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a product development environment.
  • Process capability, Gage R&R, and applied problem solving.
  • Knowledge of conductive films, adhesives, lamination, and adhesive curing processes a plus.
  • Surface preparation and cleaning experience is a plus.
  • Accelerated reliability testing, DFM, and applied problem solving is also a plus.
Skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills that demonstrate the ability to identify, quantify, and resolve technical issues.
  • Great hands-on mechanical skills.
  • Ability to handle simultaneous tasks in an environment which can be stressful at times.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as provide effective technical support to project teams.
  • Strong computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
