Job Overview

Mechanical Engineer, 12-24 month contract through Randstad, location:
Wilsonville, OR. Pay Rate: $80 - $110 per hour.

Shift: First (8 AM - 5 PM).

Education:

Bachelor's. This position is within the Surveillance Systems Division and requires collaboration with a diversified, multi‑location team to design high‑performance stabilized imaging and laser systems.

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in designing opto‑mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Experience designing with a solid modeling CAD program (Solid Works a plus).
• Understanding of drafting standards, including geo‑tolerancing.
• Knowledge of stress and thermal analysis.
• Solid PC skills including MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team in a fast‑paced, technically challenging environment.

• Design densely packaged opto‑mechanical parts and assemblies with Solid Works.
• Design optical airborne sensor payloads.
• Define mechanical specifications and plan related to electro‑optical system design.
• Test complex opto‑mechanical mechanisms and optical systems.
• Perform electronic packaging of printed circuit boards.
• Communicate effectively with cross‑discipline teams across multiple sites.

• Opto‑mechanical parts – minimum 5 years of experience.
• Mechanical engineering – minimum 5 years of experience.
• Electronic packaging of printed circuit boards.
• Testing of opto‑mechanical and optical systems.
• Communication across multidisciplinary teams.
