Job SummaryTeledyne FLIR is looking for a mechanical engineer to work in the Surveillance Systems Division in Wilsonville, OR. This position requires working with a diversified team across multiple locations on high-performance imaging and laser systems, providing technical leadership from conceptual design through testing and production implementation.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Design densely packaged opto‑mechanical parts and assemblies in Solid Works.
- Design optical airborne sensor payloads.
- Responsible for mechanical specifications and planning related to electro‑optical system design.
- Test complex opto‑mechanical mechanisms and optical systems.
- Electronic packaging of printed circuit boards.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑disciplinary teams located at multiple sites.
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience designing opto‑mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Experience with solid modeling CAD programs (Solid Works preferred).
- Understanding of drafting standards including geo‑tolerancing.
- Knowledge of stress and thermal analysis desirable.
- Excellent PC skills including MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team in a fast‑paced, technically challenging environment.
