Job Description
Teledyne FLIR Defense, a unit of Teledyne Technologies, is seeking a Quality Engineer to monitor and maintain product quality at our Wilsonville facility. The role focuses on new product development and sustaining activities, including test procedure development, quality system activities, customer complaints, and continuous improvement. The position also serves as the backup OSHA 30 Safety role on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate product qualification testing including PQT and FAT.
- Manage customer complaints and out-of-box failure analysis.
- Support quality management activities such as internal audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and management review meetings.
- Develop test procedures and reports to meet customer contract data requirements (CDRLs).
- Sustain technical quality plans for new and existing products.
- Review and approve drawings/schematics for new part releases via change control.
- Review sales/purchase orders for quality assurance provisions.
- Use problem‑solving techniques to identify root causes and implement CAPA.
- Apply statistical process control techniques and conduct capability studies.
- Analyze data for product performance and compliance.
- Establish and communicate quality metrics and goals for assigned products.
- Assist supplier quality team in root cause investigations.
- Assist with proposal and contract related activities.
- Attend daily production meetings.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or engineering field and at least two years in manufacturing, quality, reliability, or test engineering.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Ability to read design drawings and schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience solving non‑conformances via CAPA.
- Organizational skills with initiative and timely task completion.
- Experience with OSHA workplace safety regulations.
- Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, and Gage R&R tools.
- Knowledge of SPC methodologies and statistical analysis tools such as Minitab.
- Experience with FMEA methodologies.
- Knowledge of military standards.
- Basic SAP function knowledge.
- High‑volume product manufacturing experience.
