Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace, including the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations.

We are looking for a leader to drive continuous improvement in EHS&S performance, manage the onsite EHS&S Team, and report directly to the site Plant Manager with dotted line reporting to the Medical Business Unit EHS&S Director.

Location:

Wilsonville, OR. This position is 100% on‑site.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the EHS&S Team, providing technical expertise, driving project targets, and achieving objectives.
  • Build relationships across the campus to ensure compliance and promote a proactive EHS culture.
  • Prepare EHS reports/metrics for internal campus, global and external stakeholders, and communicate EHS performance.
  • Lead on‑site EHS projects as required and partner with cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensure EHS programs comply with applicable government regulations, TE Connectivity technical standards and best practices, and promote compliance through detailed programs, training and auditing.
  • Coordinate and drive continuous improvement across environment and safety programs (e.g., Internal TE SMS, Hazard Management, Unsafe Act/Conditions, BBS, Ergonomics, Chemical Management, Energy Reduction, Machine Safety).
  • Maintain site permits, licenses and certificates.
  • Provide governance and guidance for hazardous materials control and waste reduction.
  • Manage the EHS accident and incident program in accordance with OSHA and company requirements.
  • Develop and manage the EHS budget.
  • Represent the company at audits and site visits by local authorities and customers.
  • Increase engagement to work with existing environmental and safety management systems.
  • Focus on leading EHS indicators such as unsafe conditions and behaviors and near misses.
  • Engage managers within the plant responsible for environmental compliance.
  • Conduct formal and systematic reviews of facility operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Engage third‑party regulators for compliance assurance and inspections.
  • Align site environmental and sustainability programs with business unit, segment and enterprise strategies.
  • Manage environmental and sustainability metrics and reports, permits and other regulatory documents.
  • Lead and support projects to improve environmental and sustainability KPIs (energy use, water use, waste reduction).
  • Submit and manage capital expense requests for compliance or improvement projects.
  • Monitor regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Report compliance status, cost of compliance and audit results to leadership.
  • Effectively manage implementation of ISO 14001 management system and certification.
Qualifications
  • Degree in EHS or related field.
  • 10+ years’ EHS experience in a manufacturing business.
  • Medical device or other regulated manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • CSP preferred.
Key Requirements
  • Experience in hazardous waste management, storm water, wastewater, air compliance, chemical management reporting, SPCC plan coordination, EPCRA reporting and emergency response coordination.
  • Thorough knowledge of environment, health and safety legislation and experience in EHS management systems.
  • Experience achieving sustainability‑related goals for Scope 1, 2 and 3.
  • Excellent leadership, people skills, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Attention to detail and a results‑oriented approach.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, Excel, database and presentation software;
    Benchmark experience preferred.
  • Experience implementing an EHS management system within a manufacturing setting.

Compensation

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $127,100 – $158,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location). Total Compensation equals base salary plus incentives and benefits.
