Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute characterization and qualification tests, test plans, and test systems for laser diode modules, multi-laser light engines, and laser measurement devices.
- Build and test laser, laser system, and measurement assemblies using procedures, instructions, or communication.
- Analyze results from tests, prototype builds, and models.
- Work in conjunction with other development engineers to develop written test and assembly procedures and suggest improvements to these procedures based on build process, test results, and analysis.
- Using results of tests and analysis, develop additional tests for root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Complete project assignments to schedule in a multi-project environment.
- Support the transfer of new products to manufacturing.
Requirements
- B.S. or higher degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline.
- 5 years optical and laser test experience in new product development environment.
- Working knowledge of laser safety and experience operating lasers and measuring laser beam parameters.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical data analysis tools and problem-solving methods.
- Knowledge of Lab View, Python, or other programming language for test automation is a plus.
