Position SummaryThe Systems Technician supports and enhances the OCDC’s information systems by helping plan, implement, and maintain technology solutions under the direction of the Sr. Director, Information Technology. This role works closely with staff across the organization to ensure systems are reliable, efficient, and aligned with user needs. The Systems Technician serves as a bridge between technology and people—supporting innovation, improving processes, and ensuring that IT resources effectively advance OCDC’s goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Partners with end users, specialists, and managers to test and refine system features, ensuring technology aligns with organizational needs and priorities.
- Reviews IT systems, Microsoft tools, and Google Workspace services to identify solutions and recommend improvements.
- Analyzes workflows and data flows in Microsoft platforms to identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency.
- Evaluates data systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality control.
- Acts as a liaison for Microsoft and Google systems during implementation, integration, and upgrades.
- Provides staff training on reporting tools, best practices, and advanced features to maximize system adoption and effectiveness.
- Responds to Microsoft-related questions and troubleshoot technical issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborates with the IT Department and support organizational technology initiatives under the guidance of the System Administrator.
- Stays current with service area procedures, policy changes, and new processes to keep IT systems aligned with organizational needs.
- Ensures IT activities support OCDC’s mission and align with departmental goals, objectives, and work plans.
- Supports compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Oregon Office of Child Care regulations, and other applicable requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department and organizational priorities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six (6) years of directly related experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The pay range for this position is $27.21 to $34.04 hourly. Placement within the range is determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
