Assembler
The assembler is responsible for assembling industrial shredders and their sub-assemblies by following detailed drawings, written procedures, manufacturers' recommendations, and verbal specifications. The role involves working with hydraulic and electric powered systems, performing inspections on parts to assess their condition, setting up systems for testing, breaking down and preparing systems for painting or shipment, as well as tearing down and inspecting rebuild systems.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble sub-components with precision.
- Interpret and work with electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems proficiently.
- Understand bearings, seals, shafts, and other shredder components.
- Operate assembly equipment such as torches, pneumatic tools, hydraulic jacks, grinders, and pipe fitting/cutting equipment.
- Read manufacturing drawings to identify specifications and measurements.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping and cleanliness in the work area.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, manlifts, and scissor lifts.
- Anticipate and plan for materials and resources needed for current and upcoming jobs.
Essential Skills
- Advanced understanding of mechanical systems.
- Flawless organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Experience in operating assembly equipment and tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined with experience in blueprint/schematic reading.
- Experience with power tools and industrial size equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 15 pounds above shoulder height.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 5 am to 1:45 pm. Employees work with a variety of mechanical and hydraulic equipment and tools, including cranes and lifts. The environment requires maintaining high levels of cleanliness and safety standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
