This role is a hands-on technical resource focused on training and knowledge transfer to Operations, planning and executing trials to support root cause investigations, and helping to improve process stability, yield, and overall manufacturing performance across the value stream.

The Sr. Manufacturing Technician will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to support process development, troubleshoot issues, and drive standardization across extrusion-based product families.

Job Requirements
  • Train, coach, and support production operators on extrusion and downstream processes, setup, troubleshooting, and standard work.
  • Lead and support knowledge transfer from Engineering / SME resources into Operations to build long-term process capability.
  • Plan and execute trials as part of root cause investigations, process development, and validation support.
  • Provide hands-on support for extrusion and downstream operations such as expansion, cutting, inspection, packaging, and related process steps.
  • Observe equipment and process behavior to identify defects, abnormal conditions, or process drift.
  • Measure and verify dimensional and process outputs to confirm conformance to specifications and detect variation.
  • Support machine setup, tooling changes, and parameter adjustments within approved process windows.
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and process improvements.
  • Support IQ/OQ/PQ execution and other validation activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to investigate failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Help develop and maintain process documentation, setup sheets, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, yield, scrap reduction, and downtime reduction.
  • Evaluate new technologies and methods that may improve process capability, product quality, or productivity.
  • Provide direct support across the value stream and be flexible in contributing wherever needed.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost in all daily activities.
  • Support minor maintenance, equipment cleaning, purge, and changeover activities as required.
What Your Background Should Look Like
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in extrusion manufacturing or related medical device manufacturing processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret process instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience supporting process trials, validation work, or root cause investigations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working directly with production equipment.

  • Ability to train others and transfer technical knowledge in a clear and practical way.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, repeatable, and compliant execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with polymer extrusion, expansion, heat-shrink tubing, or downstream tubing processes.
  • Experience supporting validations, process capability, or continuous improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, dimensional verification, and standard manufacturing documentation.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, problem-solving tools, or structured root cause analysis methods.
