Seeking:
Summer camp counselor for June-August 2026 — Wilton, CT

Join our caring, state licensed Waldorf community at Apple Blossom Waldorf School and Family Center in Wilton, CT. An early childhood center serving ~50 families during the school year. We value the protection of childhood and trust in the natural unfolding of the development of the young child. We provide joyful, rhythmic days filled with free play, crafts from natural materials, songs, and storytime on a wooded property with nourishing, and organic, homemade snacks.

Our Summer Program:

• Runs for 9 weeks from June 17 - August 16
• Nursery class: max. 8 children / week. Mixed age group of 18 months - 3 years old.
• Kindergarten class: max. 20 children / week. Mixed age group of 3-7 years old.
• The hours are 9 am - 1 pm, plus extended care until 4 pm

The Position: can be for as many weeks as available. Either part time or full time. It is an hourly paid position starting at $17/hour

• Interest in working with children under the lead teacher's guidance
• Enjoy domestic activities such as preparing snack, dish washing…
• Be attentive to all areas involving the safety and well-being of the children
• Be a quiet but active presence in the classroom
• Work with children one-on-one and in a small group
• Be open and receptive to suggestions
• Radiate a joyful mood
• Maintain confidentiality

A warm and open disposition with the ability to communicate with colleagues. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children. Training is preferred, but not required.

Must be 18 years or older. The ability to meet Connecticut OEC licensing requirements including yearly professional development, as well as to pass a CT criminal background check. To be able to lift and carry small children during caregiving times when necessary. Participate in on site training provided by Apple Blossom before the start of camp.
