Strong Start Early Care & Education | Wilton, CT
Strong Start Early Care & Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Toddler Head Teacher to join our growing program in Wilton. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an early childhood professional serving the Danbury, Ridgefield, Wilton, and Norwalk area who is committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children.
Compensation- Starting at $24/hour , based on experience, education, and role fit

- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Connecticut Early Learning Standards
- Create and maintain a consistent, engaging daily classroom schedule
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Lead and support Assistant Teachers within the toddler classroom
- Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and creative development
- Observe, assess, and document children's growth and progress
- Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior and social skills
Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and conferences - Encourage positive peer interactions and a strong classroom community
- Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices
- Ensure compliance with center policies, state licensing regulations, and NAEYC standards
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or daycare setting
- Strong knowledge of toddler development and early childhood best practices
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
