Position SummaryThe Engineering Technician is responsible for building, assembling, and testing sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems within a cleanroom environment. This role supports engineering testing, process improvement activities, lean initiatives, and quality enhancements while contributing to new product pilot builds and volume production readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Production & Assembly
- Build, assemble, and test complex mechanical/electrical systems in a cleanroom environment.
- Manufacture high‑level systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems from assembly through testing.
- Oversee the complete process flow and serve as a technical reference for the team.
- Quality & Process Improvement
- Produce products to specification and report ongoing or unusual issues.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback for root‑cause analysis.
- Contribute to product and process enhancements using lean tools and best practices.
- Engineering Support
- Assist with engineering testing, prototype builds, and validation activities.
- Support pilot production and transition of new products to volume manufacturing.
- Evaluate the impact of new processes and propose improvements.
- Develop and improve technical documentation, processes, and records (TPD).
- Technical Knowledge & Teamwork
- Build strong understanding of modules, subsystems, and overall system interactions.
- Share technical expertise with team members and cross‑functional groups.
- Support continuous improvement and collaborative problem‑solving.
- Coordinate daily activities per production plans and monitor tool and material usage.
- Proficiency in blueprint and schematic reading.
- Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
- Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and prototype development.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Skilled with hand tools, test equipment, and electronic components.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with technical documentation.
- AS or BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (degree not required).
- Manufacturing internship, co‑op, or hands‑on technical work experience.
- Lean manufacturing training (Intro to Lean, 5S, Kaizen, VSM).
- Cleanroom or semiconductor industry experience.
- Cleanroom manufacturing environment—PPE provided.

Schedule:
Thu/Fri/Sat + alternating Wed, 6 AM–6 PM. - Each shift includes 4 hours of overtime (paid daily).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilton, CT.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 – $24.00/hr.
