Position: FLS Production Engineer – Mechatronics & Test Competency (CWW – N1)

Overview

ASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. This position is for a First Line Support Production Engineer in the Production Engineering department at Wilton Factory. The engineer will work with cross‑sector employees to provide rapid response to disturbance notices related to engineering issues and to perform the engineering steps listed in the production operator dashboard (POD) to support output.

Responsibilities
  • Spend about 75% of time in the cleanroom providing direct support to production processes and troubleshooting.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot electro‑mechanical modules and subassemblies.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot module test and final qualification issues.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot multi‑discipline test equipment (Hardware/Software/Electrical/Servo).
  • Master test rig qualification software:
    Linux/Python + proprietary ASML GUI.
  • Analyze MATLAB runs and plot data from database.
  • Support query code to interrogate data for manufacturing needs.
  • Support analysis on test data and derive conclusions.
  • Analyze RGA data and evaluate test results to determine if parts, assemblies, or modules meet contamination requirements.
  • Develop OCAPs, Fishbones, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Support diagnostics qualification and implementation for production staff.
  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions.
  • Support development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions.
  • Support design and document reviews for diagnostics.
  • Support DOA root cause analysis.
  • Support cycle time and labor hours roadmap implementation.
  • Support PFMEA.
  • Read mechanical, electrical, and optical drawings.
  • Use MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.
  • Provide occasional weekend coverage.
  • Be aware of potential exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment: full gowning, ISO 9000/14000 standards, and safe handling of overhead cranes, forklifts, motorized pallet movers, lasers, ladders, platforms, and chemicals.
Work Schedule

Compressed Work Week Nights 1 (CWW N1) schedule: 6 pm to 6 am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics (preferred) or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years experience in an engineering environment with a BS in a related field, or 0+ years with an MS in a related field.
  • Solid understanding of complicated manufacturing assemblies.
  • Knowledge of servo and mechatronic control systems.
  • Knowledge of complicated multi‑discipline (electro‑mechanical) assembly.
  • Knowledge of integrated hardware/software testers.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems.
  • Knowledge of image/signal/data process algorithms, statistics, and software development.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Python/Matlab.
  • Experience in a production environment with high‑tech products and complex processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with optical–electrical sensors is a plus.
  • Experience in technical production engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control and FMEA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NX, Teamcenter, and SAP is a plus.
