We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Facilities Engineer to support semiconductor-based manufacturing projects on‑site in Wilton, CT. You'll collaborate with client owners, contractors, and site personnel to design, develop, and oversee mechanical systems — including HVAC, process cooling water, exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, and process piping — across new installations and retrofits of existing building systems. This is a dynamic, fast‑paced role for a seasoned mechanical engineer who thrives in complex industrial environments.

Pay: $60.96‑$84.13 per hour DOE. Contract to Hire. Relocation assistance available. Must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. — no visa sponsorship available.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop scope documents, client specifications, design requirements, and construction documents for complex manufacturing tool and facilities mechanical systems.
  • Perform code assessments, HAZOP reviews, engineering calculations, and equipment sizing/selection for piping, ducting, exhaust, and process chemical/gas systems.
  • Understand and interpret P&IDs, layout drawings, equipment plans, and details to support system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with trades, system owners, and clients to gather information and develop design options considering cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Lead stakeholder meetings to drive decisions and required actions.
  • Oversee engineering and construction for HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, and process piping systems.
  • Review vendor submittals against client requirements and specifications; support construction and system integration.
What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
  • 10+ years of practical mechanical facilities design experience — HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbing.
  • 5+ years of design project delivery experience.
  • Solid knowledge of ASME, ASME B31.3, ASHRAE, building codes, and fire codes.
  • Experience reviewing vendor submittals and interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel in the field.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen; fully authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Nice to have: EIT or PE licensure, 5+ years as a facility engineer, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM
360, working knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs, equipment plans, and detail drawings.
