Research Scientist
ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.
Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.
As an Advanced Development Center Data Analytics Manager (or Group Lead), you will be responsible for leading a team of 10-15 direct reports consisting of data analysts and algorithm developers. This team is responsible developing algorithms and prediction tools in optical metrology, image processing and material science for the design, development, and continuous improvement of tools, process and solutions required to achieve nanometer level surface geometry and flatness for ASML’s most advanced wafer and reticle clamping systems used within ASML’s latest Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) semiconductor lithography systems.
Roleand responsibilities
Specifically you will be responsible is to lead a team of data analysts to develop computational algorithms in optical metrology system, image processing, physics, material science, mechatronic automation and industrialization to solve challenges of ASML products, predicting product performance, correlation between material science, manufacturing processes and field data and guide the direction of capabilities to enable a deeper understanding of customer product field returns, R&D proto-types and components in various manufacturing stages and product life-cycles.
As direct line manager, you will partner closely with the Project Managers regarding present and future scope and timing of deliverables. Be accountable for the quality, technical integrity, and planning for on time execution of deliverables. Collaborate on project planning, attend design reviews, and review and approve technical documentation. Be responsible for hiring direct, contract, and intern/Co-Op employees.
