Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technical Writer role based in Wilton, CT. The Technical Writer will create, update, and maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, assembly instructions, process guides, and engineering change documentation for semiconductor equipment projects. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information, translating complex concepts into accessible language, and ensuring documentation complies with internal standards and customer requirements.

The role involves organizing and structuring documentation sets, maintaining version control, and supporting documentation for new designs, assemblies, and test processes. The Technical Writer is also expected to contribute to continuous improvement of documentation practices and tools, and to support cross‑functional project coordination as needed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Writing and Technical Communication for complex engineering and semiconductor‑related content.
  • Candidates should possess robust skills in Technical Documentation and Documentation management, including structuring, organizing, and maintaining controlled document sets.
  • Candidates should possess experience creating and updating Manuals and related end‑user documentation for technical products or equipment.
  • Relevant experience in engineering, semiconductor equipment, manufacturing, or a closely related technical field is beneficial.
  • Strong ability to translate technical information into clear, concise, and audience‑appropriate documentation, with excellent written English skills.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., MS Office, PDF tools, version control systems; experience with XML or structured authoring is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to work on‑site in cross‑functional teams, manage multiple projects, and meet documentation deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
