Position Overview A confidential, family-owned organization is seeking a hands-on Controller (or strong Assistant Controller ready to step up) to serve as the operational right hand to the CFO. This role owns day-to-day accounting operations and leads transactional accounting across a multi-location environment that includes U.S. showrooms and a domestic manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate thrives in a lean, collaborative environment and is comfortable balancing technical accounting ownership with team leadership and operational support.

Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle accounting operations and monthly close Prepare and review financial statements in partnership with the CFO Manage Quick Books, including invoicing, sales reporting, and transaction oversight Lead, mentor, and coordinate the accounting team’s workflows Oversee AP, AR, collections, and cash flow management Support operational and system efficiency initiatives Provide financial support across multiple business locations Contribute broadly within a small-company environment as needed Team Structure Direct management of three accounting professionals across multiple locations with strong cross-coverage and collaboration.

Qualifications — Required Strong hands-on accounting and close experience Proven financial statement preparation and analysis Deep understanding of debits/credits and cash flow management Experience managing AP/AR and collections functions Quick Books Enterprise proficiency Leadership experience with small accounting teams Ability to operate effectively in a lean, multi-hat environment
