Engineering Technician (Manufacturing Test) – Cleanroom
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to support the build, test, and improvement of complex mechanical and electrical systems within a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This individual plays a critical role in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and process optimization, ensuring products meet rigorous quality and performance standards. WorkEnvironment & Schedule
Cleanroom manufacturing environment
Compressed Work Week (CWW):
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (+15% shift differential)
Rotating schedule with alternating Saturdays:
- D1/N1:
Sun–Tues (+ every other Sat) - D2/N2:
Wed–Fri (+ every other Sat)
Initial 2-week training:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Includes daily overtime (12-hour shifts)
Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly & Testing
- Build, assemble, and test complex electro-mechanical systems and subassemblies.
- Perform system-level testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Use a variety of hand tools, test equipment, and measurement devices.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all products are built to established specifications and quality standards.
- Identify recurring issues in assembly or testing and escalate or resolve as needed.
- Support and drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, process improvement).
- Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions.
Production Support
- Execute builds and deliver systems according to production plans and timelines.
- Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting and best practices on the floor.
- Monitor and control usage of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Support cross-functional teams to maintain production flow and efficiency.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Participate in prototype builds and pilot production runs.
- Assist in transitioning products from engineering development to full-scale manufacturing.
- Develop and refine technical product documentation (TPD) and work instructions.
- Evaluate the impact of new processes and recommend improvements.
Teamwork & Knowledge Sharing
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Share knowledge and mentor less experienced technicians where applicable.
- Support a team-oriented environment focused on problem solving and innovation.
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring and integration, system testing and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools and diagnostic/test equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, process improvement).
- Solid understanding of electro-mechanical systems and system-level functionality.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Experience in cleanroom environments, semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- Familiarity with prototype development and NPI processes, inspection, repair, and rework techniques, computer-based documentation and data entry.
- Lean training or certifications (Kaizen, VSM, etc.)
