Position Type: Full-Time
This position is for a Long Term Special Education Substitute teacher at Murdock High School, beginning August 25, 2026 and ending around June 18, 2027. Ideal candidates are organized, creative, and effective communicators who will work closely with the high school team in caring for and instructing young students.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- DESE licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, 5-12
- SEI Endorsement Required
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
- Collaborate with regular education teachers, support staff, administrators, and parents to monitor student progress and compliance.
- Participate in, and where appropriate, chair, all IEP team meetings for designated students.
- Make data-driven instructional decisions to improve student outcomes.
- Implement, monitor, and adjust Individual Education Programs based on team determinations and measurable goals using progress monitoring.
- Complete all special education paperwork accurately, confidentially, and on schedule.
- Collect and report progress monitoring data for all student goals.
- Provide information regarding student progress at least as often as students in the general education setting.
- Deliver individual, small group, co-teaching, and specialized instruction based on students’ IEPs.
- Maintain accurate, compliant special education data (including ESY, accommodations, amendments, non-attendance forms, class lists, etc.).
- Complete additional duties as required by the building principal.
The role requires standing, walking, use of hands, talking, hearing, reaching, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. The employee must have adequate visual abilities such as close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
Compensation$270/day for Certified Teacher; $200/day for Bachelor’s Degree.
