Special Education Facilitator
Reports To:
Administrative Director of Exceptional Children Services, Preschool and Mental Health Services
Basic Function:
Provide individual and group instructional expertise to all levels; coordinate and/or provide professional development in needed areas or by individual needs, coordinate teaching schedules and caseloads with administration; coordinate collaboration activities with regular classroom teacher; mentor teachers with needed services; and provide ongoing communication among special education, regular teachers and administration.
Representative Duties:
- Establish and conduct weekly meetings with specific topics.
- Provide instructional mentoring services as needed.
- Develop technology instructional packets for each collaborative content area.
- Provide technology professional development.
- Participate in professional development activities as a "trainer" and then deliver this to staff.
- Attend "ARC" meetings with teachers.
- Works with all content departments in planning a program for students.
- Works with the administration in developing schedules appropriate for each student.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge And Abilities:
- Knowledge of:
Special Education regulations. - Collaborative modifications.
- Individual Education Plan writing with regard to modifications/data.
- Kentucky's Common Core Academic Standards.
- Kentucky's Assessment and Accountability System.
- Inclusion testing regulation.
- Assistive technology devices.
- Individualizing instruction.
- Ability to:
Ability to Lift up to 25 pounds
Education And Experience:
Teacher certification in regular or special education or an endorsement in a specialized area.
