Graywolf is seeking experienced Tank Welders (Tankie III - FCAW Welder, Fitter & AGW) in Winchester, KY. Per Diem eligible greater than 60‑miles, Schedule is 5‑10's with occasional Saturdays. Project length is 3 months.

Summary

The Tank Welder is responsible for performing welding and grinding functions per job specifications, selecting equipment, and planning the layout and assembly of welding. The role requires close interaction with supervision and adherence to precise limits and standards of accuracy.

Essential Duties
  • Assembles and fits to drawing dimensions of all kinds of structural, plate and mechanical materials into all types of assemblies.
  • Efficiently produces quality welds and performs fitter tasks using various positions and metallurgy.
  • Performs or assists with fit‑up and preparation of welds.
  • Performs or assists with post‑weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
  • Communicates regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns.
  • Performs all other job‑related duties as requested by supervision.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 3 years of prior FCAW tank welding/fitting/AGW experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with employees and customers.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required Weld Testing FCAW as determined by CWI/Quality Assurance. 2G Horizontal, 3G vertical uphill, and 4G overhead on carbon steel plate without backing. Weld testing will be coordinated with off site facility locations.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre‑hire requirements.
Physical/Site Requirements
  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required. Soft welding hoods are not permitted.
