- Passionate about creating a student‑centered environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of high school age students.
- Has a detailed understanding of effective methods and a strong knowledge of pedagogy for the English classroom that includes the writing process, reader response, and a flexible repertoire for assessing skills that incorporates performance‑based assessments.
- Has a growth mindset and embraces collaboration and curriculum development within the goal of continuous improvement.
- Values responsiveness to the inclusion of diverse texts and the infusion of technology.
- Commits to developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students as a regular practice.
- Preference will be given to candidates with co‑teaching experience.
- Possesses a valid DESE certification in English 8‑12 and an undergraduate degree in English; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Must hold a valid Massachusetts DESE certification in English 8‑12.
