Long Range Financial Planning Committee

The Select Board is seeking three members for its Long Range Financial Planning Committee, a cross-board working group organized by the Select Board to design and maintain a multi-year financial model for the Town’s budget and research measures to strengthen the Town’s finances.

Areas of focus will include:

• Revenues
• Expenses
• Forecast for operating reserves
• Implementation guidelines for all of the above, including revenue and expense targets, triggers for budgetary flexibility, and controls for reserve accounts

In addition to the members of the general public, the Long Range Financial Planning Committee will include representatives from the Select Board, School Committee, Finance Committee and municipal and school staff with the Capital Planning Committee invited to identify a member to attend as an observer.

• Professional experience in municipal or public finance, ideally in Massachusetts communities or related (i.e., State level)
• Experience with long range financial planning
• Strong analytical skills and research abilities
• Availability to attend meetings and potentially make updates to maintain the long range financial plan

Time Commitment – meetings every other month, six times per year, with the committee to commence in the summer of 2026.

Term – Two year term with potential to be renewed by a vote of the Select Board.
