About Our L&D Unit Winchester Hospital’s Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) Unit is a high-performing, patient-centered environment supporting over 2,500 deliveries annually. The unit includes 10 labor beds, 2 triage beds, 2 operating rooms, and a dedicated tub room for labor support (non–water birth). Our team maintains A1 standards for nurse-to-patient ratios and is supported by 24/7 in-house anesthesia and continuous neonatology coverage.
We care for patients at or above 32 weeks gestation and collaborate closely with private practice Obstetricians and Physician Assistants. Staffing on each shift includes a strong core team of nurses along with surgical tech and administrative support.
The unit has recently undergone extensive renovations, offering brand-new labor rooms designed with comfort and aesthetics in mind, including modern bathrooms and glass showers. OR upgrades and expanded storage enhancements are also in progress.
The Role As a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse at Winchester Hospital, you will provide comprehensive, compassionate care throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum experience. You’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support safe, family-centered births while responding confidently to both routine and high-risk situations.
This role offers the opportunity to practice across the full spectrum of L&D care—from triage and labor support to circulating in the OR, with opportunities to expand your skill set through cross-training. Nurses are integral to maintaining exceptional patient outcomes, upholding quality standards, and delivering individualized care in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
